our provisional projects

Each year, provisional members create, fund, and complete an original project.  These projects must focus on an original way to serve the children of Grenada.  Projects such as Operation Special Needs, Totes for Tots, and Lovin' Lunch Boxes have evolved into ongoing projects.

JA of Grenada has won the MAG Award, a national award through NAJA for the best provisional project, in 2006, 2007, 2010, 2013, and 2015.

2018 Provisional project

The 2018-2019 provisional class decided to reach out to third grade students to offer “Book Buddies” as their project. “Book Buddies”, sought to meet the educational needs of these students. Members of the provisional class designed a reading comprehension program that aims to improve fluency, vocabulary and comprehension of third grade students by conducting one-on-one reading sessions. Members went to our local elementary school weekly to work with the students.
