Operation Special Needs developed from a provisional project into one continued every year.

our provisional projects

Each year, provisional members create, fund, and complete an original project.  These projects must focus on an original way to serve the children of Grenada.  Projects such as Operation Special Needs, Totes for Tots, and Lovin' Lunch Boxes have evolved into ongoing projects.

JA of Grenada has won the MAG Award, a national award through NAJA for the best provisional project, in 2006, 2007, 2010, 2013, and 2015.

2017 Provisional project

The 2017-2018 provisional class decided to reach out to middle and high school girls and provide a babysitting  safety course. These ladies saw a very real need within this age group of kids. Their project, “Safe and Sound”, sought to meet the educational needs of these students. Members of the provisional class split into three different groups and educated girls in the area of car seat safety, CPR training, and first aid. The provisional class also provide bags to pass out to each of the girls with safety information, supplies, and helpful tips to go along with what they learned. Educating these girls has been a rewarding and fun experience for the provisional class and we hope each of the girls who attended the class fill prepared and ready to care for children of all ages.
